Diana Schofield, PsyD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Diana Schofield, PsyD returns to private practice with over fifteen years’ experience as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist providing mental health assessment and treatment. She started working with emotions and behaviors as a teenager when she coached 6 and under on a summer league swim team. While an undergraduate at Northwestern University, she worked as direct care staff in child and adolescent inpatient psychiatric units at Children’s Memorial Hospital and Dorothea Dix. In these settings, Dr. Schofield connected the importance of psychological safety in relationship with intervening in crisis.
She received her doctorate from Baylor University in 2009 and completed her residency and postdoctoral fellowship training at Virginia Commonwealth University within acute psychiatric, consult-liaison, and outpatient programs. After directing the Tidewater Child Development Clinic at the Norfolk Department of Health, Dr. Schofield spent a decade growing the Psychology department and the Mental Health Service Line at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD). As the Director of Psychology at CHKD, Dr. Schofield dedicated herself to training the next generation of psychologists in the Coastal Virginia community through faculty mentorship, development of high-quality and innovative clinical programming, and the creation of a successful postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology and a robust practicum training program for doctoral students.
Dr. Schofield currently supervises doctoral students in an assessment/testing practicum at Community Psychological Resources.
